Sallie Jones Elementary School in partnership with Sunart Gallery & Framing announces the 4th Annual Student Art Show Charity Benefit on March 24th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at Sunart Gallery & Framing, 307 Taylor St. in downtown Punta Gorda.  www.sunartgallery.net  Sunart proudly sponsors this annual community partnership to support the Arts in Education in Punta Gorda.

The public is invited and student artwork will be for sale in silent and live auctions.  Beloved and entertaining local attorney, Cort Frohlich, will donate his time and talent as auctioneer this year.  Kaley Miller of Mosaic along with Judy Roth, well known patrons of the arts, will be special MC and hostess respectively.  Light refreshments will be served.  Silent auction begins promptly at 6:00 p.m., with performances by the SJES chorus and drama club throughout the event.

A variety of items will be available including an array of student created glass art and jewelry. “This is not your typical coloring book style of art a loving grandparent displays on the fridge!” says Patti Presseller, owner of Sunart Gallery & Framing. “The very talented art teachers Sallie Jones Elementary has been blessed with over the last 4 years encourage and instruct our children to create pieces of art that anyone would be proud to display in her/is own home.  Jewelry has been added to the list of creations and I am very excited about that.”

“Sunart Gallery & Framing provides our students the opportunity to show their work in a professional and highly esteemed local art gallery.  We are teaching students how to run micro-economies and how selling their art provides funds for the Art Department as well as some of our classroom centered humanitarian projects.  We’re teaching students leadership skills like learning how to run a business.” explains Jessica Scott Dunda the art teacher at Sallie Jones.
